Davis Engineering Service, Inc. (DES) currently has two office locations, with one in Alamosa and the other in Pagosa Springs. The Alamosa office operates a staff of eight full time employees including one registered professional engineer and one registered professional land surveyor. The Pagosa Springs office operates a staff of six full time employees including one registered professional engineer and two registered professional land surveyors. Both offices utilize full time engineering and surveying technicians who are working toward professional licensure, as well as additional part-time staff as the workload dictates. We have quality professional staff with local knowledge developed from years of experience to ensure a high quality product.   • Over our 62 year history in the civil engineering and land surveying business, we have experienced significant changes in the industry technology. In being exposed to these changes, we have the advantage of knowing what tools are appropriate for use in each phase of the work. Some of the key tools which our staff are proficient with and use in everyday work include:

  • Company History


    Davis Engineering Service (DES) was established in Del Norte, Colorado in 1948 by Paul B. Davis, P.E./P.L.S., a 1939 graduate of the Colorado School of Mines. Initially, the firm was engaged in land and mine surveying and water filings. Since that time, the firm has steadily increased its scope of engineering and surveying services to accommodate and facilitate the needs of our diverse clientele. DES was incorporated in 1967, and in 1997 moved the Del Norte staff to the current corporate office in Alamosa, Colorado and in 1986 a branch office was opened in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
